The Hisense Energy Pro Plus in its 3.5 kW size is an inverter wall-mounted air conditioner that the manufacturer places in its premium range. The figures on this page come from the Hisense data sheet for the set made up of the QE35XV2AG indoor unit and the QE35XV2XW outdoor unit. We say this up front because in Polish distribution the same series can carry a different variant code, and we check the technical data of any other code separately before ordering. The key numbers on the sheet are a cooling capacity of 3.5 kW (range 1.0 to 4.4 kW) and a heating capacity of 4.2 kW (range 1.6 to 4.8 kW).
This model makes most sense when the unit is meant to run all year round. Hisense lists SEER 8.5 with an A+++ class for cooling and SCOP 5.1, also A+++, for heating. Heating works at outdoor temperatures down to -20°C, while cooling covers -15 to 43°C outside. There is also an 8°C maintenance heating mode, handy in a flat that stays empty for part of the winter. Heating output in hard frost is lower than the nominal figure, so we discuss the role the unit should play in heating your flat case by case rather than promising it can replace your radiators.
The other side of this model is its equipment: Wi-Fi built into the unit, optional voice control through Alexa or Google Assistant, an AI Smart mode and the Smart Eye motion sensor, which can point the airflow at a person or away from them. Air quality is handled by HI-NANO sterilisation and a 4-in-1 filter with a carbon layer, and the manufacturer lists self-cleaning of both the indoor and the outdoor unit. According to the table, the indoor unit's sound pressure is 25–38 dB and the outdoor unit's is 50 dB. We quote the installed price after a free assessment.
Energy Pro Plus is a line Hisense describes as its premium inverter series for flats and houses. In the 3.5 kW version it suits a typical Warsaw living room, a larger bedroom or a living space with an open kitchen, as long as sun exposure and insulation are about average. We always choose capacity after a site visit, because two rooms of the same floor area can have very different solar gains in summer and completely different heat losses in winter. The series also includes a smaller variant, but this page covers only the 3.5 kW set and its own figures.
It is fair to explain where the data comes from. We use the Spanish Hisense data sheet for codes QE35XV2AG (indoor unit) and QE35XV2XW (outdoor unit). The same Energy Pro Plus series is also sold in Poland under a different variant code, for which we do not have a separate sheet. That is why, before ordering, we compare the rating plate and documentation of the delivered set with the numbers on this page. If anything differs, we tell you before you sign the order, not after the installation is finished.
The best way to look at this model is as a year-round unit. An A+++ class in both modes, heating at -20°C outdoors and a nominal heating output higher than the cooling output all make sense in a flat where the air conditioner warms rooms in the shoulder seasons or supports district heating on cold evenings. If the unit is only supposed to cool a bedroom in July, many of these strengths will simply go unused, and a simpler set may be the more sensible choice for that job.
The set uses R32 refrigerant and an inverter-driven compressor. In cooling the nominal output is 3.5 kW, with modulation from 1.0 to 4.4 kW. In heating the nominal figure is 4.2 kW, the minimum 1.6 kW and the maximum 4.8 kW. The low end of that range matters in spring and autumn, when a room needs very little power and the unit can run for a long time at low speed instead of switching on and off. In practice this means a steadier room temperature and calmer operation than a compressor that keeps starting and stopping every few minutes.
Seasonal efficiency on the sheet is SEER 8.5 for cooling and SCOP 5.1 for heating, both in class A+++. In our climate SCOP tends to matter more for the electricity bill, because the heating season in Warsaw lasts longer than the hot spells of summer. The heating operating range covers outdoor temperatures from -20 to 24°C, and the cooling range runs from -15 to 43°C. Hisense also lists cooling at low ambient temperature, which is useful in rooms with high internal heat gains, such as a home office with several monitors and a computer running all day.
A separate feature is 8°C maintenance heating. In this mode the unit keeps the room at a low, safe temperature, which makes sense in a rental flat between tenants or in a cottage used only at weekends. In a frost of minus ten degrees or more, any air-to-air heat pump delivers less than its nominal output, so we do not claim that this set will heat a whole flat on its own. We make that assessment on site, taking into account floor area, windows and the existing heat source.
The most distinctive comfort element of this model is the Smart Eye motion sensor. Hisense describes a follow / avoid function: the airflow can be directed at a person in the room or steered around them. The first option helps when someone comes home hot and wants to cool down quickly; the second suits a bedroom or a desk, where a direct draught becomes tiring after a while. On top of that come the AI Smart mode, automatic airflow adjustment, automatic vertical swing of the louvre and a Super Cool mode for bringing down the temperature of an overheated room.
For air cleanliness, the sheet lists HI-NANO sterilisation, a 4-in-1 filter with a carbon filter, a washable PP filter and an anti-mould function. Hisense also states self-cleaning of the indoor and outdoor unit, intended to limit the build-up of dirt and mould. None of this replaces washing the filters by hand: during a season of heavy use it is worth taking them out every few weeks, and more often with pets in the flat or a renovation going on in the building. The front panel can be removed and washed, which makes it easier to keep the casing clean.
We describe noise using the manufacturer's table. Sound pressure of the indoor unit ranges from 25 to 38 dB depending on fan speed, and the outdoor unit is rated at 50 dB. The model has a quiet mode, four sleep modes and display brightness control, so operation can be adjusted to the night. When choosing where the outdoor unit goes, we take bedroom windows into account, both yours and your neighbours'.
Wi-Fi is built into this model, so app control does not require buying an external module. From your phone you can switch the unit on before you get home, change the mode or temperature and check whether the air conditioner was turned off when you left. The set also comes with a wireless remote with an LCD screen, which handles the functions available only from the remote, such as automatic horizontal louvre swing, 8°C heating and fan speed selection.
Hisense describes voice control through Alexa or Google Assistant as optional. We therefore do not assume it works straight after installation, and before setting it up we check what it requires on the account and app side. For many households the remote and the app are enough; a voice assistant is worth adding if you already use one at home for other devices and want the air conditioner in the same routine.
Other everyday functions include a 24 h timer, automatic restart after a power cut and brightness control for the LED display. The timer lets you switch the unit off after you fall asleep or on before you get up in the morning. Automatic restart brings back the last settings after an outage, which matters in a flat left empty for several days during a heatwave. At start-up we connect the unit to your home network and show you where to find the sleep modes and Smart Eye in the app.
The QE35XV2AG indoor unit is white and measures 883 x 198 x 305 mm (width, depth, height), weighing 10 kg. A width of nearly 90 cm means you need to leave plenty of room for it above a window or a door, while the 198 mm depth keeps the casing from sticking far out of the wall. The front panel carries an LED display with adjustable brightness, which in a bedroom is usually set to the minimum or switched off for the night.
The front panel can be removed and washed, and the condensate drain can be routed to the left or the right. The second point is practical during installation, because it lets us run the lines on the side with the shorter path to the outside wall or the drain stack. A weight of 10 kg needs a solid fixing; on plasterboard walls we check whether there is reinforcement behind the board before suggesting a position.
The QE35XV2XW outdoor unit works with the indoor unit in a single-split setup, and the series can also run in multi-split systems. When picking a spot on a balcony or a facade we consider the outdoor unit's 50 dB sound pressure, service access, condensate drainage during heating and the housing community's rules on changes to the facade.
Every installation starts with a free survey, where we choose positions for both units and agree the route of the lines. As standard we mount the indoor and outdoor units, run up to a few metres of refrigerant, electrical and condensate lines, make the wall penetration and lay the installation neatly. Hisense allows a pipe run of up to 20 m, which gives some headroom in flats where the outdoor unit has to go on the far side of the apartment.
Once the lines are in place, we pull a vacuum and check the system for leaks, charge it with refrigerant and start the unit. We check operating parameters, configure the controls including the Wi-Fi connection, show you how to use the unit and hand over the warranty documents. Possible extra charges are discussed before work begins: a longer line set, drilling through concrete or reinforced concrete, wall chasing, a condensate pump or work from a lift. We quote the installed price after a free assessment.
In everyday use, what matters most is regularly washed filters and an annual service with a leak check and a clear condensate drain. For a unit that also heats in winter, it is worth booking the service before the heating season, not only before summer. Self-cleaning and HI-NANO sterilisation help keep the heat exchanger in better condition, but they do not remove the need for servicing.
The Hisense Energy Pro Plus 3.5 kW is mainly for people who want to use their air conditioner for heating as well. The case for it rests on SCOP 5.1 in class A+++, heating at -20°C outdoors, 4.2 kW of heating output and the 8°C maintenance mode. A second group is users who value phone control without buying an extra module and the Smart Eye sensor, which points the airflow at a person or away from them.
It is a weaker fit where a narrow casing is the top priority, because 883 mm takes up a fair amount of wall. Keep in mind too that the data comes from the sheet for codes QE35XV2AG and QE35XV2XW, so with a different variant code we check that the documentation matches. If the unit is only going to run for a few weeks a year in one room, this model's heating strengths will not get much chance to pay off.
