Why us

Why hire LeoKlima for your air conditioning installation?

We do not sell boxes — we take responsibility for making sure your air conditioning runs quietly, efficiently and trouble-free for years.

Free air-conditioning site survey — a technician measuring a wall in a Warsaw apartment
01

Free on-site survey

Before we quote a price, we come to you. We measure the rooms, check the material and thickness of the walls, assess the possible route for the installation and the location for the outdoor unit. We do not quote installations "blind" over the phone, because a remote estimate almost always diverges from reality. Thanks to the survey, the price we give you is the final price — with no extra costs added while the work is under way.

02

F-gaz certification

Every one of our installers holds an F-gaz certificate and works in line with the regulations on fluorinated greenhouse gases. This is not a formality: only installation by a certified installer keeps the manufacturer's warranty on the unit fully valid. We also work with professional equipment — a vacuum pump, gauges and leak detectors — because good tools matter as much as the certification.

03

Clean installation in a single day

We complete a standard split air conditioner installation within one working day. Before we start, we protect the floors, furniture and appliances with sheeting and remove any dust with a vacuum cleaner as we go. Once the installation is finished, we clean up after ourselves — what is left in the flat is a working air conditioning system, not mess and drill marks.

04

Installation done on vacuum, not on shortcuts

We evacuate every installation with a vacuum pump and check it for tightness before charging it with refrigerant. Skipping the vacuum stage, or cutting it down to a few minutes, is the most common cause of failure: moisture and air remain in the system, which after a season reduce efficiency and lead to refrigerant loss. We never skip this stage — no matter how tight the schedule is.

05

Authorisations from multiple manufacturers

We install units from brands we genuinely know from our day-to-day installation and service work. Manufacturer authorisation means two concrete things for you: a full, often multi-year warranty on the equipment, and access to genuine spare parts should they ever be needed. We will also recommend a model suited to the room and the budget — without pushing you towards the most expensive tier.

Air-conditioning service and care after the installation is complete
06

Care after installation

Our cooperation does not end once the installation is complete. We remind you when a service is due, we service what we have installed, and we pick up the phone whenever something gives you doubts. If the air conditioning starts behaving differently than usual, simply get in touch — we know your installation, so the diagnosis is faster and the repair cheaper.

Introduction

Professional air conditioning installation in Warsaw

Summer in Warsaw can be genuinely exhausting — especially in flats facing south and west, on the top floors beneath a sun-baked roof, and in city-centre offices where glass façades act like a greenhouse. A well-sized and expertly installed air conditioning system solves this problem for years: it cools in the heat, provides supplementary heating in the cooler transitional months and filters the air all year round. Two phrases are key here — "well-sized" and "expertly installed" — because even the best unit will not forgive mistakes made during the installation.

At LeoKlima we treat air conditioning installation in Warsaw as a complete service, not an add-on to selling equipment. We start with a conversation: how you use the rooms, how many people spend time in them, whether heating also matters to you, and whether the air conditioning is to work mainly in the bedroom or throughout the flat. Only on that basis do we choose the type of system — split, multi-split or ducted air conditioning — and the capacity of the unit. This approach means you do not overpay for a unit that is too large, nor struggle in summer with one that is too weak.

The free site survey is the moment when the most becomes clear. Our technician checks the thickness and material of the walls, sets out the possible route for the refrigerant pipes, assesses the location for the outdoor unit and the way the condensate will be drained. We discuss the realities of the specific building, because work in a large-panel block of flats is completely different from work in a pre-war tenement house, and different again in a detached house. After the survey you receive a concrete quote and know exactly what will be done, where and how.

We carry out the installation itself so that, once we leave, there is no sign anyone worked here — apart from a quietly running, working air conditioning system. We route the installation lines neatly, by the shortest sensible path, we carefully seal the wall penetrations, and we level and fix the units securely. We do not start the system up until the vacuum test and the tightness check are complete — never sooner. Finally, we check the unit's operating parameters and measure the supply air temperatures to be sure the air conditioning works to specification.

On this page you will find everything worth knowing before installation: which types of air conditioning we install, what our work looks like step by step, what exactly the installation covers, what to watch out for in Warsaw's building stock, and answers to the most common questions. If you would rather simply talk — call 502 010 010 or leave a request through the form, and we will call you back and arrange a free site survey at a time that suits you.

Professional split air conditioning installation in a flat in Warsaw

AC types

Which type of air conditioning should you choose for a flat, house or office?

Four types of system that we match to a flat, house or office — depending on the number of rooms and the stage of the finishing works.

A split-type wall air conditioner installed in a bright living room

Split air conditioning

The most popular solution for cooling a single room. It consists of one indoor unit, usually mounted on the wall, connected by refrigerant pipes to one outdoor unit. A split is quick to install, most often in a single day, and its running costs are low thanks to inverter technology, which smoothly regulates output instead of switching on and off. Modern wall units run very quietly, so they work well in the bedroom too.

Bedroom, living room, study, small office

A multi-split system — several indoor units in a flat

Multi-split air conditioning

A solution for cooling several rooms at once. We connect anywhere from two to five indoor units — one in each room — to a single outdoor unit. The biggest advantage of a multi-split in Warsaw is that only one outdoor unit stands on the façade or balcony rather than several, which is sometimes a requirement of housing associations and simply looks better. You control each indoor unit separately, setting one temperature in the bedroom and another in the living room.

2–5-room flats, houses

Ducted air conditioning with discreet supply grilles in the ceiling

Ducted air conditioning

Invisible air conditioning. The indoor unit is hidden in a suspended ceiling or in built-in cabinetry, and the cooled air is distributed through a system of ducts to the individual rooms. All that is visible in the room is discreet supply grilles, which can be matched to the interior design. This is an elegant and comfortable solution, but it has to be planned at the finishing or renovation stage, because it needs space for the ducts.

Houses and flats being finished

A cassette air conditioner in the suspended ceiling of an office

Cassette air conditioning

A unit mounted in a suspended ceiling that blows cooled air evenly in four directions. This allows a cassette to cool larger, open spaces effectively and without draughts, where a single wall unit would not be enough. It is a typical choice for offices, conference rooms, retail and hospitality premises. Installation requires a suspended ceiling of an adequate height — we will check this during the survey.

How we work

How does an air conditioning installation work, step by step?

A transparent process from the first phone call to a working unit. No surprises and no hidden stages.

  1. 1

    Free site survey

We come to you at the agreed time, look at the rooms and measure their floor area. We check the material and thickness of the walls, the access to the façade, the possible route for the installation and the way the condensate will be drained. We also ask about your expectations — whether the air conditioning is mainly to cool, or to heat as well. The survey is free and without obligation.

  2. 2

    Unit selection and quote

Based on the survey, we propose a specific type of system, capacity and model of unit suited to the room and the budget. We explain the differences between the variants under consideration and answer your questions. You receive a clear, final quote covering the entire scope of work, along with a proposed date for the installation.

  3. 3

    Preparation and routing

On the day of the installation we protect the floors, furniture and appliances with sheeting. We set out the exact route for the refrigerant pipes, the electrical installation and the condensate line, and then make the wall penetration. Where needed, we chase channels to conceal the installation. Throughout, we keep things tidy and minimise dust.

  4. 4

    Indoor unit installation

We fix the mounting bracket and, on it, the indoor unit — in the location agreed beforehand. The unit must be precisely levelled and stable, keeping the clearances from the ceiling and walls required by the manufacturer. Correct positioning affects not only the aesthetics but also the proper drainage of the condensate.

  5. 5

    Outdoor unit installation

We install the outdoor unit on the façade, balcony, roof or ground — in a location that ensures proper ventilation. We mount it on solid, galvanised brackets and on anti-vibration pads, which reduce vibration and noise. Where necessary, we work from scaffolding, a hoist or using rope-access techniques.

  6. 6

    Vacuum, tightness and charging

We connect and flare the pipes and then evacuate the entire installation with a vacuum pump, removing moisture and air from it. We check all connections for tightness and only then open the valves, charging the system with refrigerant. This is the stage that most determines the durability and reliability of the installation.

  7. 7

    Start-up and instruction

We start the air conditioning up, measure the supply air temperatures and check the operating parameters in both cooling and heating mode. We configure the remote control and — if the unit has this feature — control via a phone app. Finally, we show you how to operate the air conditioning day to day and hand over the documents and warranty cards.

Scope of work

What exactly does a standard air conditioning installation include?

A standard installation is the full set of work needed to get a single split air conditioner running. We establish the exact scope during the free survey, so that the quote is complete from the outset — with no surcharges "discovered" only once the work is under way. Below you will find what is included as standard, and the situations in which the building may require additional work.

Professional air-conditioning installation — evacuating the system and checking pressures

Included as standard

  • Installation of the indoor and outdoor unit
  • Up to a few metres of refrigerant, electrical and condensate routing
  • Wall penetration and neat routing of the installation
  • Carrying out the vacuum and checking the system for tightness
  • Charging with refrigerant and starting the unit up
  • Checking the operating parameters and configuring the controls
  • Operating instruction and handover of the warranty documents

Possible surcharges — when the building requires them

  • A longer installation route beyond the standard scope
  • Drilling through concrete, reinforced concrete or thick walls
  • Channelling and concealing the installation within the wall
  • A condensate pump where there is no gravity drain
  • Work from scaffolding, a hoist or using rope-access techniques

We discuss any possible surcharge with you and you approve it before the work begins — we never add costs without your knowledge. That is precisely why we carry out a survey before the quote: most additional work can be foreseen before the team turns up with their tools.

An air conditioning outdoor unit installed discreetly on the façade of a tenement house in Warsaw

Warsaw specifics

How does AC installation work in Warsaw blocks, tenement houses and detached houses?

Warsaw is not one type of building stock but a dozen or so. Air conditioning is installed differently in a large-panel block on Ursynów, differently in a pre-war tenement house in Praga, and differently again in a new apartment building in Wilanów or in a detached house outside the city. Experience from hundreds of Warsaw projects lets us foresee the typical difficulties before they become a problem — and propose a solution matched to the specific building, rather than a "one installation fits all" template.

Most questions concern formalities and neighbours. In many housing associations and cooperatives, installing the outdoor unit on the façade requires the prior consent of the property manager. We advise on how to obtain such consent, and we plan the installation so that it complies with the building's regulations. In areas under conservation protection, of which there are plenty in central Warsaw, we choose solutions that are as discreet as possible and route the installation so as not to disturb the character of the historic façade.

Warsaw's building stock also brings specific technical challenges. The reinforced concrete walls in 1970s blocks require strong drill bits and experience, the thick walls of tenement houses lengthen the route of the installation, and high floors with no balcony access on the side of the outdoor unit mean working from a hoist or using rope-access techniques. We know all these situations from practice and take them into account at the survey stage, so that nothing surprises you later.

Good timing matters too. At the peak of the season, in June and July, when the heat reminds everyone about air conditioning at once, the waiting time for installation gets longer. If you are planning air conditioning, the best time for a survey is early spring or autumn — an off-season installation is calmer, the date is easier to fit, and the unit is ready to work before the first hot days arrive.

01

Flat in a block

The outdoor unit most often goes on the balcony or on the façade next to a window, and we route the installation neatly — inside the flat in discreet cabinetry or outside along the wall. Before installation we check the housing association's regulations and any restrictions on interference with the façade, so that everything complies with the building's rules.

02

Tenement house and conservation zone

Installation in older building stock calls for care: thick brick walls, a historic façade, and sometimes the need to obtain consent from the heritage conservator. We usually locate the outdoor unit on the courtyard side, route the installation along existing risers and chimneys, and design the whole so that it is as inconspicuous as possible from the street.

03

Detached house

In a house we have the most freedom. A multi-split serving several rooms, or ducted air conditioning hidden in the ceiling, works well here. We place the outdoor unit on the façade or on the ground next to the building. The best results come from planning the installation while the house is still being built or finished — the installation can then be concealed entirely.

Sample installation projects in Warsaw

Four typical projects that show how we match the solution to the specific building.

Multi-split air conditioning installation in a flat in a block on Ursynów
Ursynów

Multi-split in a flat in a block

A three-room flat where the client wanted to cool the bedroom, the child's room and the living room. We installed a multi-split: three indoor units connected to a single outdoor unit placed on the balcony. We routed the lines in discreet ceiling cabinetry and completed the whole installation in one day, with no interference with the building's shared façade.

Śródmieście

Split in a tenement house in a conservation zone

A flat in a pre-war tenement house in an area under conservation protection. We installed the outdoor unit discreetly on the courtyard side and concealed the installation along existing risers, so that it would not be visible from the street. We agreed the solution in advance with the building manager, so the installation went ahead without any formal obstacles.

Ducted air conditioning in a detached house in Wilanów
Wilanów

Ducted air conditioning in a house

A new detached house in which the owners decided on air conditioning while the house was still being finished. We designed a ducted system: units hidden in the suspended ceiling distribute the air to every room upstairs. All that is visible in the rooms is discreet supply grilles matched to the interior design.

Cassette air conditioning in an office on Mokotów
Mokotów

Cassette units in an office

An open-plan office where single wall units would not provide even cooling. We installed two cassette units that blow air in four directions. We scheduled the work outside the team's working hours, so that the installation would in no way disrupt the company's operations.

Brands

We install air conditioners from reputable brands

We work with equipment from manufacturers whose units we know from our day-to-day installations and servicing — we know how they are installed, how they perform after years, and how to repair them should the need arise. Authorisation means two concrete benefits for you: a full manufacturer's warranty and access to genuine spare parts. During the survey we will recommend a brand and model matched to the room, your expectations and your budget.

After installation

What warranty do we give on air conditioning installation?

For us, a warranty is more than a line on the invoice. We provide a written warranty on the installation we carry out, and the unit itself is covered by the manufacturer's warranty — depending on the brand and model, even up to five years. It is worth bearing one condition in mind: the full manufacturer's warranty is kept only by an installation carried out by an F-gaz certified installer and by regular, documented inspections. An installation "by a neighbour" without certification can void that warranty — and that is precisely why we take care of the formal side of every project.

Our cooperation does not end with the installation. We remind you when an inspection is due, and the inspection itself covers cleaning and disinfecting the indoor unit, checking the system for tightness, and checking the pressures and operating parameters. Regular servicing is not bureaucracy — a dirty heat exchanger and clogged filters increase electricity consumption, worsen air quality and shorten the compressor's life. A well-maintained air conditioner simply costs less to run and breaks down less often.

If anything gives you doubts — an unusual noise, weaker cooling, dripping water or a smell from the supply air — simply call. We service primarily what we have installed ourselves, so we know your installation, and the diagnosis is faster and cheaper. We also carry out inspections and repairs of units installed earlier by other companies.

  • Post-warranty service and inspections, including units from other companies

Q&A

Frequently asked questions about air conditioning installation in Warsaw

Short, concrete answers to the questions we hear most often during surveys.

How long does it take to install air conditioning in a flat?

We usually complete a standard split air conditioner installation within one working day — most often it takes from four to six hours, counting from protecting the flat to start-up and instruction. Installing a multi-split system with several indoor units, or ducted air conditioning, can take from one to two days, depending on the number of units and the length of the installation routes. We state the exact time in the quote after the survey, so you know in advance how much time to set aside.

Do I need consent from the housing association or cooperative for the installation?

In many of Warsaw's multi-family buildings, installing the outdoor unit on the façade requires the prior consent of the housing association or cooperative. The regulations vary, however — in some buildings a notification is enough, while in others a formal resolution is needed. During the survey we check what rules apply in your building and advise on how to prepare the application to the manager. We plan the installation and the location of the outdoor unit so that the whole complies with the regulations and does not cause disputes.

Where is the outdoor unit installed in a block of flats?

In a flat in a block, the outdoor unit most often goes on the balcony, on the façade right next to a window, or on special brackets fixed to the exterior wall. We choose the location so that the unit has free airflow — an outdoor unit "choked" in a tight enclosure loses efficiency. We also pay attention to noise levels and aesthetics, and to the provisions of the housing association's regulations. In a detached house there are more options: the façade, a technical terrace or the ground next to the building.

Will the air conditioning disturb the neighbours?

Modern outdoor units run genuinely quietly, and we additionally mount them on anti-vibration pads that dampen the vibrations transmitted to the building wall. We position the outdoor unit so that the airflow is not directed straight at the neighbours' windows or balcony. A correctly sized and installed air conditioning system should not be a nuisance to those around. If the building has an acoustically sensitive location, we will select a unit with a particularly low outdoor-unit noise level.

Do you install in tenement houses and conservation zones?

Yes, we also install air conditioning in older building stock and in areas under conservation protection, of which there is no shortage in central Warsaw. In such places we favour solutions that are as discreet as possible — we usually locate the outdoor unit on the courtyard side, route the installation along existing risers and chimneys, and design its run so that it is invisible from the street. Where the regulations require it, we precede the installation with obtaining the consent of the heritage conservator.

Where is the condensate from the air conditioner drained?

Condensate — the water produced during cooling — is best drained by gravity, either outside the building or into a wastewater installation. When a gravity fall is not possible, for example when installing deep within a flat, we fit a quiet condensate pump that pumps the water to a drainage point. We establish the method of drainage at the survey stage, because mistakes in this area — too little fall, a poorly routed line — are one of the most common causes of leaks in installations done "on the cheap".

How much does air conditioning installation cost in Warsaw?

The cost of installation depends on several factors: the type and capacity of the unit, the number of indoor units, the length of the installation route and the specifics of the building, for example the need to drill in reinforced concrete or to work from a hoist. That is why we do not give fixed "price-list" prices — a remote estimate almost always diverges from reality. After the free survey you receive a concrete, final quote covering the entire scope of work, with no hidden surcharges added later.

Can air conditioning heat in winter?

Yes. The vast majority of the air conditioners we install are air-to-air heat pump units, which can not only cool but also heat efficiently — even at sub-zero temperatures outside. It is a convenient and cheap-to-run way of warming rooms in early spring and autumn, before you switch on your main heating. More and more of our clients treat air conditioning precisely as a year-round appliance, not equipment for summer only.

What is the difference between a split and a multi-split?

In a split system, one indoor unit works with one outdoor unit — this is a solution for cooling a single room, for example a bedroom or a living room. A multi-split lets you connect several indoor units, usually from two to five, to one shared outdoor unit. This means you cool the whole flat while only one outdoor unit stands on the façade instead of several — which matters both for aesthetic reasons and because of housing association regulations. We will advise which variant to choose during the survey.

Can I buy the air conditioner myself and ask you to install it?

Yes, we also install units bought by the client themselves. Bear two points in mind, however. First, the full manufacturer's warranty is kept by an installation carried out by an F-gaz certified installer — that you need not worry about, since all our installers hold it. Second, it is worth consulting the choice of model before you buy, so that the unit's capacity and type actually suit the room. We will gladly advise free of charge before you spend your money.

How often does air conditioning need servicing?

We recommend an air conditioning inspection once a year, ideally in spring, just before the cooling season. In intensively used rooms — offices, surgeries, hospitality premises — it is worth carrying out an inspection twice a year. Regular servicing is not only cleaner air and lower electricity bills; for many manufacturers, documented inspections are also a condition of keeping the warranty on the unit. After the installation we remind you when the date is approaching, so you do not have to remember it yourself.

Do you install off-season and in winter?

Yes, we carry out surveys and installations all year round. An off-season installation has plenty of advantages: the waiting time is shorter, a convenient date is easier to fit, and you can be sure the first heatwave will not catch you without working air conditioning. Installation work can also be carried out without any problem in autumn and winter — starting the unit up at very low temperatures simply requires the right procedure, which our technicians know well.

How do I prepare the flat for an air conditioning installation?

Preparation is simple. You just need to give the team access to the rooms where the units will be installed and to the planned location of the outdoor unit. It is a good idea to move furniture away from the walls along the installation route and from the unit mounting points — although we protect the floors and furniture with sheeting anyway. If the installation requires access to the cellar, the roof or a key to the building's shared areas, it is worth arranging this with the manager in advance. We discuss all the details during the survey.

Do you install air conditioning in offices and commercial premises?

Yes, we serve not only flats and houses but also offices, surgeries, retail, commercial and hospitality premises throughout Warsaw. In commercial spaces, cassette or ducted units most often work best, cooling larger areas evenly. We can schedule the installation outside the company's working hours or at the weekend, so as not to disrupt its operations. We issue VAT invoices and handle both single premises and larger contracts.
