Overview and positioning

Haier Revive Plus is the flagship of the value tier offered by the Chinese Haier group — a manufacturer that has been growing steadily on the European HVAC market for over a decade. In the producer's lineup the Revive Plus series replaced the older Tundra and Tibio models, combining their proven refrigeration platform with a refreshed design and full integration with the hOn cloud ecosystem. The Polish Haier branch offers full service support and a five-year warranty on the compressor.

Revive Plus is positioned for the segment where customers look for a balance between price and quality. The unit does not try to compete with Japanese premium models such as Mitsubishi Diamond or Toshiba Shorai Edge — instead it delivers the features people actually use: solid cooling and heating, smartphone control, quiet operation and a contemporary look. In the producer's catalogue Revive Plus comes in two colour variants — White Shine (pearl white) and Black Shine (deep black) — so the indoor unit can be matched to the dominant palette of the room. The 3.5 kW capacity covers cooling in a room of up to about 35 m² in the typical climate of Warsaw and the surrounding region; in well-insulated buildings up to 40 m².

Cooling and heating technology

At the heart of the unit sits a rotary compressor with a DC inverter that modulates output smoothly from roughly 0.7 to 3.6 kW in heating mode and from 0.7 to 3.4 kW in cooling mode. The inverter eliminates the abrupt starts and stops of traditional on/off air conditioners — it holds a stable temperature by tracking load changes in an analogue fashion. The result is lower energy use, quieter running and a longer life for refrigeration components.

The unit runs on R32 refrigerant, which has replaced the previously used R410A — it has a lower GWP (global warming potential), better heat-exchange efficiency and a smaller required system charge. SEER of about 6.1 puts the unit in energy class A++ for cooling, and SCOP of about 4.0 gives class A+ for heating — a result typical of a solid mid-tier in the energy-class ranking.

The operating temperature range covers -15°C to +43°C in cooling mode and -15°C to +24°C in heating mode, which during a Warsaw winter lets the unit work as the sole heating source in the shoulder seasons (autumn, early spring). At strong frosts (-15°C and lower) heating output decreases — it is then worth supporting the unit with another heat source, such as an electric heater in the room.

Comfort and air quality

Airflow in 3D mode is delivered by two louvres — horizontal and vertical — that independently steer the direction of the jet. The COANDA Plus function, based on the Coanda physical effect, directs air along the ceiling in cooling mode (air then drops along the walls) or along the floor in heating mode (warm air accumulates at floor level). This removes the uncomfortable sensation of cold or warm air blowing directly on people in the room.

The I FEEL function transfers temperature measurement from the indoor unit to the remote — the sensor in the remote becomes the reference point, so the air conditioner runs based on the actual temperature at the location of the person, not the temperature near the ceiling. The solution is particularly useful in rooms with an unusual layout or in bedrooms, where temperature near the bed differs from the temperature directly below the unit.

Filtration in Revive Plus is basic — a mesh filter traps larger particles of dust and pet hair; after the season it should be rinsed under running water. The SELF CLEAN function automatically dries the evaporator after cooling cycles, which prevents mould growth and unpleasant odours. The producer does not declare an anti-allergen filter or air ionisation — if advanced filtration matters to you, consider models from the tier above, such as Haier FLEXIS Plus or Hyundai Elite.

Controls and Wi-Fi

The built-in 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi module connects the unit to the hOn app — Haier's shared ecosystem for all its appliance and air-conditioning categories. After initial setup (pairing the device with the router via a QR code on a 2.4 GHz network), the air conditioner becomes available remotely from any location — you can check the room temperature, turn the unit on before returning home or schedule operation for the whole week.

The hOn app (Android and iOS) exposes every operating mode: cooling, heating, dehumidification, ventilation and auto. You can set the target temperature, fan speed, switch on ECO mode (energy saving) or Sleep (a quiet night mode with automatic temperature drift). The app also supports integration with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, so the unit can be controlled by voice.

The producer ships a wireless YR-HE2 remote as standard — practical, with a large LCD display and backlit buttons. If the customer prefers a traditional wall controller, a wired controller can be added optionally; in a typical home installation such accessories are not necessary. The unit also has an AUTO RESTART function — after power is restored it returns to the last settings.

Design and build

The Haier Revive Plus indoor unit is a slim rectangular box measuring 805 mm wide, 290 mm tall and 195 mm deep — a typical format for a wall-mounted air conditioner in the 3.5 kW class, visually neutral and a good fit for most interior schemes. The White Shine variant has a matte, gently pearlescent white finish; Black Shine — a deep black lacquer with a subtle gloss. The front is smooth, with no prominent decorative elements — which many customers see as an advantage.

The indoor unit weighs 8.8 kg — easy for two installers to mount on a standard wall bracket. The outdoor unit has proportions typical of its capacity class (around 720×550×270 mm) and weighs 23 kg — installation requires a solid wall bracket or an anti-vibration base, which LeoKlima uses as standard. The outdoor unit is built to withstand the weather — its galvanised-steel casing finished with powder coating endures many years of Polish climate exposure without corrosion.

The manufacturer uses standard copper pipes (1/4" and 3/8") with flared connections, which means the unit is compatible with any service company — there are no proprietary parts. From a long-term ownership point of view this is an important aspect: in case of a fault or a relocation you can use any authorised air-conditioning service in Warsaw.

Installation and service

The 4,353 PLN price with installation covers a standard fitting — the outdoor unit mounted on the external wall of the building up to 5 metres from the indoor unit, the copper-pipe run in premium-class insulation (Armacell or Ebrille), gravity condensate drainage to the sanitary stack and the electrical connection to the nearest socket. The price also includes a nitrogen pressure test, vacuum evacuation of the lines and commissioning with a customer briefing.

Premium anti-vibration brackets under the outdoor unit are standard — they eliminate vibrations transmitted to the building structure and extend compressor life. For flats on upper floors of blocks or with a balcony we recommend mounting the outdoor unit on the external wall (not the railing) — such installation is quieter for the neighbours and structurally sounder. Every project is verified beforehand by a LeoKlima technician during a free site survey.

After commissioning the customer receives a report with the pressure-test parameters and refrigerant charge, plus full technical documentation. The unit is covered by our authorised Haier partner warranty — five years on the compressor and two years on the remaining components. In case of a fault the in-season (June–August) reaction time is up to 48 hours; out of season we usually respond within 24 hours of the report.

Who this model is for — summary

Haier Revive Plus 3.5 kW is the model we recommend to customers looking for a complete air conditioner at an accessible price — without functional compromises but also without premium-brand surcharges. It is a good choice for a flat (a typical 25–35 m² living room or bedroom in a house) and for a smaller office. Several years of practical experience with this model show that failure rates are low and it does not cause service headaches.

If the budget allows a tier above, it is worth considering Haier FLEXIS Plus (from around 5,700 PLN with installation) — with better filtration, quieter running and a more refined design. If the customer values Japanese technology and the highest durability, we suggest models from the Toshiba SEIYA 2 or Mitsubishi MUZ-AY lines. On a tighter budget and without premium-feature ambitions, Revive Plus remains a rational choice.

Worth remembering: the long-term performance of an air conditioner largely depends on the quality of installation — even the best model loses efficiency if the install was rushed (poor vacuum, leaky fittings, wrong condensate slope). So beyond the device itself, pay attention to the install team: F-gas certificates, experience with concealed pipework and complete handover documentation.
