A black air conditioner on the wall is an interior-design decision, but with the Hisense Energy Pro X Black it is not only that. This colour version belongs to Hisense's top comfort series, and its technical data are as follows: cooling capacity 3.5 kW (from 1.0 to 4.4 kW), heating capacity 4.2 kW (from 1.6 to 4.8 kW), class A+++ in both cooling and heating, a SEER of 8.5 and a SCOP of 5.1. The set consists of the QH35XV0BG indoor unit and the QE35XV2XB outdoor unit, and the refrigerant is R32.
A SCOP of 5.1 is high for a wall-mounted unit. The manufacturer describes the series as fully inverter (100% DC Inverter) and declares heating from -20 degrees. On top of that come the Smart Eye sensor, which detects movement in the room and steers the airflow, and automatic 4D swing. The indoor unit runs from 25 to 38 dB(A), and in quiet mode the manufacturer gives a level of up to 25 dB(A).
A black casing takes a little more thought when choosing a position than a white one: on a light wall it is a clear accent, on a dark wall it blends into the background. We quote the installed price after a free assessment, and during the visit we can hold the dimensions of the unit, 877 mm wide, 301 mm high and 194 mm deep, up against the actual wall.
According to the manufacturer's description, Energy Pro X is Hisense's top comfort series, and the black version is its more striking variant. For us the choice of colour should not be decided by technology, but by how the unit looks in the room and how it goes with furniture and wall colour. That is why we write this description from the interior's point of view: where a black unit looks good, and where it is better to keep a light wall and a simpler model. The parameters we quote come from the manufacturer's data for the 3.5 kW set.
Compared with simpler models in the catalogue it stands out for equipment aimed at comfort: the Smart Eye motion sensor, 4D swing, HI-NANO sterilisation, humidity control, four sleep modes and the intelligent AI Smart comfort mode. At 3.5 kW this is equipment closer to what you find in higher-end units than in basic air conditioners.
Does that mean it is a model for everyone? No. If you simply need to cool a bedroom and do not care about extras, a simpler air conditioner is enough. Energy Pro X Black makes sense when you want, at the same time, high efficiency in both directions, extensive control of the air and a definite, dark look. During the free assessment we will help judge whether these features will have real value for you, or whether it is better to choose something more modest. Among other things we will ask how long a year the unit is to run, whether it will also be used for topping up heat and who uses the room. The answers quickly show whether the motion sensor, humidity control and sleep modes will be used every day or will remain just an item in the specification.
The strongest side of this model is heating. A heating capacity of 4.2 kW against 3.5 kW in cooling means the unit has a clear reserve in heating mode, and a SCOP of 5.1 with class A+++ confirms efficiency over the heating season. The modulation range in heating is from 1.6 to 4.8 kW. The manufacturer states that the unit heats from -20 degrees, and in the technical data the heating operating range is -20 to 24 °C.
In cooling the unit works from -15 to 43 °C and the SEER is 8.5, which gives class A+++. The upper limit of 43 °C rarely matters in practice in the Warsaw climate, because such heat is only occasional. The Super Cool function speeds up cooling, and the ECO mode limits energy use. In an empty room the unit can hold 8 degrees, which protects the flat from chilling while you are away.
The intelligent AI Smart comfort mode adapts the unit's operation to conditions in the room, and automatic 4D swing spreads the air vertically and horizontally. Thanks to the fully inverter design the compressor and fans change speed smoothly, without sudden jumps in output. It is worth remembering, though, that the declared figures refer to measurement conditions, and in frost, as with any air-to-air heat pump, output drops. We therefore treat this model as a very good but supplementary source of heat in winter. It gives the most benefit when you use it in autumn and spring and on days of moderate frost, and lean on your existing heating in the coldest weather. With that approach a SCOP of 5.1 turns into real savings, and you are not surprised by the drop in output when the outdoor temperature nears the lower limit of the operating range.
Several layers are responsible for clean air. HI-NANO sterilisation is meant to improve air quality, and the manufacturer also lists a 4-in-1 filter, a carbon filter and a humidity control function. In addition there is self-cleaning of the indoor and outdoor units, which the manufacturer describes as part of the equipment. Self-cleaning does not replace servicing: the filter still has to be cleaned periodically, and the heat exchanger needs a service check.
The Smart Eye sensor detects movement in the room and steers the airflow, so you can set it to avoid people or to be aimed at them. Four sleep modes soften temperature changes at night. The sound pressure level of the indoor unit is from 25 to 38 dB(A), and in quiet mode the manufacturer declares 25 dB(A), a level that at night usually blends into the background. The outdoor unit reaches 50 dB(A).
Humidity control is especially useful in summer, when muggy air tires you more than the temperature itself, and in the shoulder seasons. We promise nothing about a specific reduction in humidity, because there is no such figure in the manufacturer's data, but the function itself, combined with 4D airflow, helps give a more even, pleasanter climate in the room than classic cooling by temperature alone. The additional carbon filter matters in a kitchen open to the living room and in flats on busy streets, where smells reach the interior. As with any air conditioner, all filters need cleaning according to the instructions, and it is good to air the room from time to time.
The Hisense Energy Pro X has built-in Wi-Fi, which allows control from an app. You therefore do not have to buy an adapter to switch the unit on on the way home or to check the settings remotely. We set up the connection at commissioning, together with your home network, so that after installation the unit is ready to work straight away.
Voice control, through Alexa or Google, is optional according to the manufacturer. That means it needs an additional element or configuration and should not be treated as a standard function. If voice matters to you, tell us before ordering and we will check what is needed in your home. For everyday use the app and the remote are enough.
Automatic logic is also important in this set: AI Smart and Smart Eye work without your involvement, so once you have set your preferences the unit largely manages itself. You do not have to keep reaching for your phone. You can leave the ECO mode on permanently and keep a short boost with the Super Cool function for days when the flat is hot in the afternoon. We will show you this at handover. If several people live in the home with different tastes, it is worth agreeing shared daytime and night settings and saving individual preferences in the app. That way there are no arguments about whether the room should be cooler, and nobody has to hunt for the remote every time.
The Black version has a black indoor unit measuring 877 mm wide, 301 mm high and 194 mm deep, and weighing 10 kg. The manufacturer does not describe the finish, for example gloss or matt, so we do not decide that on this page; you will see it in the photo or in person. A black front is a distinct accent, so where it hangs matters. On the functional side, the position of the Smart Eye sensor matters: it needs a clear view of the room, so we do not hide it behind furniture or curtains. That is why we choose the mounting place with an eye not only to appearance but also to the sensor seeing the whole room.
On a light wall the black body will dominate, which can be the intended effect in a modern living room. On a dark background, for example a graphite wall, it will melt in and become less visible. We encourage you to hold the unit up to the wall during the assessment: a height of 301 mm and a width of 877 mm are concrete dimensions worth seeing in the room and not only in a catalogue photo. A striking dark front looks best where it is truly visible and not tucked into a corner, so it is good to plan an exposed spot for it from the start, usually above a sofa or a bed.
The indoor unit is heavier than many simpler models, weighing 10 kg, so we decide on the fixing method after checking the wall. Outside, the QE35XV2XB unit does not impose itself in any particular way; its noise is 50 dB(A), which when mounting on a balcony or facade is worth weighing against bedroom windows.
We start installation by pointing out places for both units. We hang the indoor unit, position the outdoor unit, run up to a few metres of refrigerant, electrical and condensate lines, make the wall passage and lay the installation neatly. Then we pull a vacuum and check the system for leaks, charge it with refrigerant, start the unit, check the operating parameters and configure the controls, including the network connection. Finally we instruct you in how to operate the air conditioner and hand over the warranty documents.
The manufacturer gives a maximum installation length of 20 m. That leaves room for an ordinary flat, but we agree the specific scope of work at a free assessment. The surcharges we discuss before work begins may come from a longer run, drilling through concrete or reinforced concrete, chasing channels into walls, a condensate pump or work from a lift platform. That way you know what you are paying for before the crew arrives. With a black unit we pay particular attention to appearance: pipes, cables and trunking are routed so as not to spoil the effect for which the dark casing was chosen. If the installation is to run along a wall, we match the colour of the covers to the interior and not the other way round.
Despite self-cleaning, the air conditioner is not maintenance-free. We recommend cleaning the filters periodically according to the instructions and an annual service, ideally before the cooling season. It covers checking the condensate, the tightness and the condition of the heat exchangers, and also checking that the Smart Eye sensor and the Wi-Fi connection work properly. Such a routine extends the life of the unit and preserves the efficiency you paid for when choosing class A+++.
The Hisense Energy Pro X Black is for people who want a single unit for cooling in summer and topping up heat in the shoulder months, and who like to have control over details: humidity, airflow direction, sleep modes. It will do well in a flat where the air conditioner runs all year round, because a high SCOP of 5.1 and class A+++ in heating pay off precisely in that kind of use.
It is not an obvious choice if you plan only a few weeks of cooling a year and a simple air conditioner will do. Likewise, if the colour black does not appeal to you, consider the light variant of the series. If you want to control it by voice, remember that according to the manufacturer this is an option, not a standard. It is also worth remembering that a striking dark front looks best where it is truly visible and not hidden in a corner, so plan an exposed spot for it from the start.
The best next step is a free assessment, during which you will see the dimensions of the unit on your own wall, we will judge the installation route and choose the output for the room. We quote the installed price after a free assessment, with no obligation.
