The Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Premium in the SRK35ZS-W version (outdoor unit SRC35ZS-W2) is a wall-mounted air conditioner with a nominal 3.5 kW of cooling and 4.0 kW of heating. The manufacturer describes the Premium series as an elegant, timeless design for small and medium rooms. This unit is the white version, marked with the letter W, and the series also comes in black-and-white and titanium variants.

What stands out most is everything related to hygiene and air cleanliness. The Allergen Clear filter uses an enzyme and urea which, according to the manufacturer, deactivate allergens, bacteria, moulds and viruses. On top of that there is a photocatalytic, washable deodorising filter, a Self Clean function that dries the indoor unit with the flaps closed, and an antibacterial coating on the fan. Jet Air airflow is meant to deliver quiet operation and long throw, and the indoor unit runs from 19 dB up to 41 dB at top speed.

The technical data is concrete: SEER 8.4 and SCOP 4.7 (class A++ in both modes), R32 refrigerant, heating at outdoor temperatures down to -15°C and cooling up to 46°C. One important note if you want phone control: in the -W version the Smart M-Air app needs an optional Wi-Fi adapter, WF-RAC, while the -WF versions have Wi-Fi as standard. We quote the installed price after a free assessment. Before choosing a capacity it helps to check the sun exposure of the room, the ceiling height and how many people use it. During the assessment we look at the flat, measure the pipe route and only then confirm whether 3.5 kW is the right size, and if it is not, we say so straight away.

Overview and positioning

The Premium series (SRK-ZS) is presented in the MHIAE 2026 catalogue as equipment for small and medium rooms: a bedroom, a study, a living room. That fits what Warsaw flat owners look for. It is not about large floor areas but about one well-served room where quiet, clean air and steady running without constant switching on and off count for most.

The SRK35ZS-W is the white variant. The manufacturer offers the series in several colours: white, black-and-white and titanium, and the versions with extra letters come with Wi-Fi as standard. For clarity, we describe the -W version without built-in connectivity, where Wi-Fi is an optional extra. The set is indoor unit SRK35ZS-W and outdoor unit SRC35ZS-W2.

The positioning of this air conditioner is clear: it is for someone who treats air conditioning as a way of looking after the air at home, not only the temperature. For allergy sufferers or people sensitive to smells, the set of filters and hygiene functions can matter more than the last fraction of seasonal efficiency. It is also different from units sold mainly on looks. Here the weight sits on everyday operation: filters, drying after use and quiet airflow. The manufacturer's own description lists more air-related solutions than visual effects.

Cooling and heating technology

The unit is an inverter and runs on R32, which the manufacturer describes as a low-GWP, high-efficiency refrigerant. Cooling capacity varies from 0.9 kW to 4.0 kW around a nominal 3.5 kW. In heating the range is from 0.9 kW to 5.0 kW around a nominal 4.0 kW. A lower limit of 0.9 kW is useful in small rooms where most of the time only very little output is needed.

Seasonal efficiency is SEER 8.4 in cooling and SCOP 4.7 in heating, class A++ in both cases. That is a solid result, though lower than models rated A+++. If the highest possible annual efficiency is your priority, it is worth knowing that from the start. The operating ranges, on the other hand, are wide: cooling from -15°C to 46°C and heating from -15°C to 24°C outdoor temperature.

In practice the air conditioner will cope with July heat and with topping up heating on cooler autumn or spring days. In winter, at temperatures below the lower end of the range, it should not be your only source of heat. The manufacturer's maximum installation length is 20 m, which leaves headroom even in flats with an unusual layout. With these values the unit suits a single room in a typical flat. In larger or open spaces 3.5 kW may be too little, which is why we always calculate demand on site instead of relying on the floor area quoted in an advert.

Comfort and air quality

Jet Air technology is responsible for quiet airflow and a long throw. Throw matters in elongated rooms where the unit hangs on the shorter wall and the air has to reach the far end. Indoor noise lies between 19 dB and 41 dB, and the outdoor unit makes 50 dB.

The Allergen Clear filter is an enzyme with urea which, according to the manufacturer, deactivates allergens, bacteria, moulds and viruses. The second element is a photocatalytic, washable deodorising filter. You can also start the Allergen Clear Operation function with a button on the remote, and its cycle lasts 90 minutes. We describe it as the manufacturer does, without adding medical promises of our own: the air conditioner supports air cleanliness but does not replace ventilation or allergy treatment.

Next comes Self Clean, which dries the indoor unit with the flaps closed and, according to the manufacturer, limits mould growth in the unit, plus an antibacterial coating on the fan. It is drying, not washing the unit, and the filters still have to be taken out and washed. The adjustable brightness of the LED display lets you dim the lights in a bedroom.

Controls and Wi-Fi

The basis is a wireless remote, from which you also start special functions such as Allergen Clear Operation. For everyday use in a single room it is enough, and it does not depend on the internet.

Phone control runs through the Smart M-Air app. In the -W version we describe, however, it needs an optional Wi-Fi adapter, WF-RAC. The module is not part of the standard equipment of this variant, so we do not include it by default. The -WF versions have Wi-Fi from the start, but those are different variants from the one described here.

If you want to control the unit from your phone, tell us at the quotation stage: we will add the adapter to the offer and install it together with the unit. If the remote is enough, you save on the extra. Wi-Fi should not decide the choice on its own. If the air conditioner will hang in one room and you usually switch it on after coming home, the remote does the job, and an adapter can be added later without replacing the unit. We configure the controls at commissioning and show you how to use the modes and the hygiene functions, since this is what the model is known for.

Design and build

The indoor unit is 870 mm wide, 290 mm high and 230 mm deep, and weighs 9.5 kg. The low weight eases installation, but we still fix the unit to a load-bearing wall on a proper bracket. The manufacturer calls the styling elegant and timeless, not a show-off effect: a simple body that does not impose itself on the interior.

The white version, marked -W, is the most neutral and suits most flats. For people who want another finish, the series includes black-and-white and titanium versions, but they carry different designations and Wi-Fi as standard, so they are separate products to quote. A white, plain casing is easy to clean and does not show dust the way dark surfaces do. Over longer use that is a small but real advantage.

A few practical details are worth adding: an LED display with adjustable brightness, an antibacterial coating on the fan and a washable deodorising filter. They are not eye-catching, but day to day they affect comfort and how easy the unit is to keep clean. The outdoor unit SRC35ZS-W2 should stand where air can flow freely and service access is possible, so we agree its position during the visit, with the building manager where required.

Installation and service

Installation covers the indoor and outdoor units, up to a few metres of refrigerant, electrical and condensate route, the wall passage and a neat run of the installation. We evacuate the system and check it for leaks, charge it with refrigerant and start the unit. Then we check the operating parameters and configure the controls.

At the end comes instruction in how to use the unit and the handover of warranty documents. We show how to remove and wash the washable filter and how to start the Allergen Clear Operation function. The manufacturer's maximum installation length is 20 m.

Possible extra charges are discussed before work: a longer route, drilling through concrete or reinforced concrete, chasing walls, a condensate pump or work from a lift platform. We settle the scope at the free audit. Note that these charges are not automatic. Most flats fall within the standard scope, and extras appear only when the work genuinely grows, for example with a longer route or a hard wall. For a model so focused on hygiene, regular servicing and filter cleaning are especially important. Once a year it is worth ordering a check of the condensate drain and the condition of the heat exchangers, because moisture in the indoor unit is exactly what the Self Clean function is meant to help with.

Who this model is for — summary

The MHI Premium SRK35ZS-W is for people who ask first about air cleanliness and quiet when choosing an air conditioner. The Allergen Clear filter, the deodorising filter, Self Clean drying and the antibacterial coating make a set that makes sense in a bedroom, a child's room or a flat where someone is sensitive to dust and smells.

The model is not for someone looking for the top energy class: A++ in both modes is a good but not record-breaking result. Nor is it the right choice if you need built-in Wi-Fi without extra cost straight away, because in the -W version you have to add the WF-RAC adapter or choose a -WF variant.

If that profile fits you, start with a free assessment. We quote the installed price after a free assessment, and on site we check whether 3.5 kW is the right capacity for your room. We will also tell you plainly if another size is better, because choosing the capacity decides comfort more than any single function. In short, it is a sensible choice for people who value calm, clean airflow and simple operation, and treat Wi-Fi as an option. Call or write and we will arrange a free visit, choose positions for both units and prepare a quote matched to your flat.
