The Toshiba Daiseikai 10 in the 3.5 kW version is the RAS-B13S4KVPG-E indoor unit (white version) with the RAS-13S4AVPG-E outdoor unit. The manufacturer calls this series the newest edition of the Daiseikai line: it combines high cooling and heating performance with energy savings and a distinctive style. The series runs on R32 and comes in white or with wooden louvres; we describe the white version. In practice this is a unit with rich equipment described by the manufacturer. For a customer in Warsaw who plans to use air conditioning in summer as well as in the shoulder season, such parameters give plenty of flexibility.
The figures are strong. Nominal cooling output is 3.5 kW (from 0.9 to 4.2 kW) and heating output is 4.0 kW (from 0.7 to 6.3 kW). SEER is 9.7, SCOP 5.2, and energy class A+++ applies to both modes. The indoor unit measures 930 x 255 x 293 mm (width, depth, height), weighs 14 kg and produces from 20 to 41 dB; the outdoor unit produces 45 dB. The operating range runs from -15 to 46°C in cooling and from -20 to 24°C in heating. The maximum installation length is 25 m. Noise figures show that the indoor unit at its quietest speed goes down to 20 dB in the table, while the manufacturer's feature text speaks of a level below 19 dB.
The Daiseikai 10 stands out for equipment that in other series is often an extra: Wi-Fi is built in, and the manufacturer describes the Toshiba Home AC Control app with energy monitoring and voice control. Add the Smart Sensing sensor, the Ultra Pure filter and the HADA Care mode. This model makes sense if you want advanced comfort and do not want to buy extra modules. We describe all functions as the manufacturer gives them, without promises beyond the technical data, and we check the real match of power to the room on site. We quote the installed price after a free assessment.
In Toshiba's range the Daiseikai 10 is a premium series for homes and flats. The manufacturer presents it as the newest edition, meant to combine performance, savings and an original look. The series comes in three cooling output variants from 2.5 kW to 5.0 kW, so the 3.5 kW described here is the middle size, matching a typical living room or large bedroom. It leaves headroom for hot days without much oversizing, and we always verify the choice of power on site, because comfort is affected by sun exposure, ceiling height and the number of people.
The positioning is defined by the set of functions: class A+++ in cooling and heating, an inverter with a Toshiba twin-rotary compressor, built-in Wi-Fi and an app, the Smart Sensing sensor and the Ultra Pure filter. The manufacturer adds an ecological element: up to 43% recycled plastic is used in the unit. For most customers the decision comes down to comfort, noise and ease of use, so we concentrate on those in the following sections. It is a model for someone who treats the air conditioner as permanent equipment and wants convenient operation.
The set consists of the RAS-B13S4KVPG-E indoor unit and the RAS-13S4AVPG-E outdoor unit. The codes are worth keeping in case you ever ask about parts or service. The manufacturer's catalogue also has a wooden-casing variant (code RAS-B13S4KVDG-E), but it is a separate variant with somewhat different dimensions and weight. This text concerns the white version and its figures: 14 kg and 930 x 255 x 293 mm.
The system is based on inverter technology with a Toshiba twin-rotary compressor. Cooling output can vary from 0.9 to 4.2 kW around the nominal 3.5 kW, and heating output from 0.7 to 6.3 kW around 4.0 kW. The upper heating limit is clearly higher than nominal, which gives headroom on colder days, and the lower value lets the unit run gently at low load. The output range is wide, so the unit does not have to run flat out once the room temperature is set.
Seasonal efficiency is SEER 9.7 and SCOP 5.2. The outdoor temperature range is from -15 to 46°C in cooling and from -20 to 24°C in heating. The manufacturer describes the model as adapted to extreme conditions. For a Warsaw resident it matters that heating was designed with the colder months in mind: 4.0 kW and a range down to -20°C mean the air conditioner can support heating for much of the shoulder season, although we do not treat it as a replacement for the whole heating system. There are also winter solutions: defrosting on demand, plus strong and intelligent defrosting. Frost builds up on the outdoor unit in heating, and the manufacturer lists these as elements of the outdoor unit's winter operation. Fireplace mode is a separate operating mode.
According to the manufacturer, the Magic Coil heat exchanger has a self-cleaning coating. That describes the coating of the exchanger, not a function you switch on, so it does not replace cleaning the filters or a service. Despite the coating, servicing is still needed: a periodic inspection covers checking tightness, condensate drainage and the state of the outdoor unit, as well as cleaning the filters. The maximum installation length is 25 m, and we fit the installation to the specific flat at the assessment.
The Ultra Pure filter is, according to the manufacturer, the main element of air quality: it captures and binds PM2.5 pollutants and additionally neutralises viruses, bacteria, mould and unpleasant odours. The brochure speaks of effectiveness of up to 94% of PM2.5 particles. A plasma ioniser complements it. Even so, the filter needs regular care, like every filter in an air conditioner. The PM2.5 claim refers to the filter under the conditions the manufacturer describes, and in a flat the effect depends on ventilation, the number of people and how often the filter is cleaned. For allergy sufferers it is an extra layer of protection, not a substitute for other measures.
Thermal comfort is supported by HADA Care, an indirect airflow meant to protect skin from drying out. You can also choose between indirect and direct airflow, designing your own comfort. Smart Sensing monitors movement, presence and activity, and touch control covers 15 areas of a thermal map. HADA Care and Smart Sensing are linked: the first ensures the stream does not dry the skin, the second lets the operation adapt to the presence of people in the room. Together they give more individual control of comfort.
In terms of noise, the indoor unit runs from 20 to 41 dB, and the manufacturer speaks of values below 19 dB in the quietest operation. The outdoor unit is 45 dB, and the quiet outdoor operation function lowers the level to 40 dB. In a bedroom these values favour peaceful sleep, though the impression depends on the room and the time of day. How noise is experienced also depends on installation: a well-fixed outdoor unit on a stable bracket generates less vibration, which is why we do that stage carefully.
This is one of the model's stronger sides. The Daiseikai 10 has a built-in Wi-Fi adapter, so you do not need to buy a module to control it from a phone. The manufacturer describes the Toshiba Home AC Control app, which lets you monitor energy and control the unit by voice through Google or Amazon Alexa. Voice control requires a suitable assistant at home and a working network, which is worth considering if you want to use it. The unit works without it, and the remote is enough for everyday needs.
Smart Sensing works as part of the controls: sensors track movement, presence and activity, and the user can touch one of 15 areas of a thermal map. This gives more precise influence over where the airflow goes. Such functions take a moment to get used to, so at the briefing we show the most important settings. Energy monitoring in the app lets you check how much the unit uses and fit the settings to your household budget. It is a function the manufacturer describes in its brochure.
During commissioning we configure the controls together with the customer. If you use Wi-Fi at home, we help with the first connection of the unit to the app. We finish the briefing by covering the basic modes, timer setting and how to change the airflow direction. The remote stays available as an everyday tool. For people who do not like apps, this is also important: Wi-Fi is built in, but you do not have to use it, and basic operation by remote stays the same.
The indoor unit in the white version measures 930 x 255 x 293 mm (width, depth, height) and weighs 14 kg. That is more than in compact models, so we pay attention to the wall's load capacity and the space above the unit. The manufacturer describes the whole as a unique style meant to underline the style of the room. When mounting we also allow free space above and at the sides, so that the airflow does not hit an obstacle and the filter can be taken out.
The series comes in two finish colours: white and with wooden louvres. The wooden version is larger and heavier, and the manufacturer gives its exact parameters separately. If you want a wooden finish, say so at the assessment; we will discuss the changes in dimensions. The white variant goes well with light interiors, and the wooden louvres are for some customers a clear argument for choosing this series.
Two solutions stand out in the build: up to 43% recycled plastic and stylish louvres. The manufacturer says that up to 43% recycled plastic was used in the construction. It is not a parameter that affects how the unit works, but it may matter to people who pay attention to environmental footprint. The outdoor unit is larger and heavier than the indoor one, so we assess the space for it during the assessment, together with access and bracket load capacity.
For the Daiseikai 10 we mount the indoor and outdoor unit, run refrigerant pipes, electrical cables and the condensate line over a stretch of a few metres, make the wall passage and lay the installation neatly. Then we evacuate the system, check it for leaks, charge it with refrigerant and start the unit. During the work we keep things tidy, and afterwards we clean the work spot and leave a clean area by the wall.
At the end we check the operating parameters, configure the controls, explain operation and hand over the warranty documents. We discuss possible surcharges before work: a longer route, drilling through concrete or reinforced concrete, wall chasing, a condensate pump and work from a lift platform. We settle the scope at the free assessment, and we prepare the quote afterwards, indicating what is in the standard scope and what may need a surcharge. The maximum installation length for this model is 25 m.
In use, cleaning the filters and an annual service count. The Ultra Pure filter and the plasma ioniser work best on a clean unit. We recommend a check before the summer season and, if you use heating, before winter. We quote the installed price after a free assessment.
The Toshiba Daiseikai 10 3.5 kW is for a person who wants an air conditioner with full equipment as standard: built-in Wi-Fi, voice control, an Ultra Pure filter, a Smart Sensing sensor and class A+++. It fits a living room or bedroom in a flat where silence, air quality and a convenient app matter. It does particularly well in rooms where you spend a lot of time, because the comfort and air quality functions then work every day.
It makes less sense in a very small room where a lighter unit is enough, and where someone is looking for the simplest equipment without sensors and apps. If the budget is limited and you need only basic cooling, a simpler model may be more justified. The white version weighs 14 kg and is 930 mm wide, so space has to be allowed for in installation.
The best step is a free assessment: we will measure the route, check the wall and the place for the outdoor unit, and then price the installation. A conversation at the assessment lets you check this without obligation. We quote the installed price after a free assessment.
