The Uni Pure is a newer, basic Hisense series: a simple shape, high energy classes and many small solutions that make life in a flat easier. The 3.5 kW variant consists of the HB35XU0AG (indoor) and AS35XU00W (outdoor) units. Cooling capacity is 3.5 kW and heating capacity 3.9 kW, and the inverter can lower both to 1.0 kW, so at low demand the unit does not run flat out. For a Warsaw customer choosing a first air conditioner for a flat, it helps that the full set of figures and functions can be checked on this page, and every value comes from the manufacturer's data for this variant.
Efficiency is high: SEER 8.5 means class A+++ for cooling and SCOP 4.6 means class A++ for heating. The manufacturer pairs this with a broad set of hygiene and convenience features. There is HI-NANO sterilisation, a carbon filter, a washable filter and a removable, washable panel, plus built-in Wi-Fi with an app that shows statistics of energy use and performance. There are also practical solutions: a double condensate outlet that can be led out to the left or the right, and an anti-freeze heater in the outdoor unit. In the LeoKlima catalogue we treat the Uni Pure as a model for someone who wants many functions without reaching for a higher series.
The indoor unit runs between 26 dB and 41 dB, and the outdoor unit is rated at 55 dB. Heating works at outdoor temperatures down to -20°C, and cooling up to 43°C. The refrigerant is R32. The maximum installation length is 20 m. These are good numbers for a Warsaw flat in which the air conditioner is to work all year. Remember that an air conditioner is not the main heat source, but in the shoulder season and in a mild winter it clearly lowers bills compared with electric heating. The Uni Pure is the basic series in the Hisense range: advanced sensors or elaborate ways of steering the air are not described for it. That does not mean the equipment is poor. The manufacturer lists over a dozen functions, from automatic louvre swing in the vertical and horizontal planes to a 24-hour timer, and that number of small conveniences is the best description of the model. For us it is a unit in the category of sensible compromises: the feature set is wide and the energy class high. The manufacturer's description gives a lot of room to filters and sterilisation, so we treat hygiene of operation here as one of the main topics.
A set rated at 3.5 kW corresponds to a typical living room or a large bedroom. Cooling capacity lies in the range from 1.0 kW to 4.0 kW, and heating from 1.0 kW to 4.4 kW, with a nominal 3.9 kW in heating. This means a small power reserve in hot spells and cold days, but also the ability to run at a low speed when the room is already warm. In a room with large glazing it is worth considering a more powerful unit, which we discuss during the audit before any decision to buy.
Before purchase it is worth asking whether you need all these extras. If so, the Uni Pure is a sensible proposal. If you prefer a unit as simple as possible that just cools, other items in the catalogue can be considered. We talk this through during the free assessment and match the model to the room, not the other way round. During the visit we mark on the wall where the unit will hang and show the route of the pipes, so that nothing surprises you after the work is finished.
The unit is a heat-pump inverter, which in practice means that the same set cools in summer and tops up the heating in the cooler months. The seasonal figures are SEER 8.5 (A+++) for cooling and SCOP 4.6 (A++) for heating, which places the model among the more economical in its power class. Remember that seasonal coefficients are calculated according to standards and do not replace the bill in a specific flat, which depends on insulation, exposure and residents' habits. The inverter changes the compressor speed smoothly, so the temperature in the room changes gently. Minimum output, in both cooling and heating, is 1.0 kW, and maximum is 4.0 kW in cooling and 4.4 kW in heating. In practice the unit does not need to switch off and on often, which favours a stable temperature and lower energy use.
The outdoor temperature range is from -15°C to 43°C in cooling and from -20°C to 24°C in heating. The upper cooling limit is 43°C, which rarely matters in Warsaw conditions. In winter the manufacturer provides an anti-freeze heater in the outdoor unit, which protects the system from freezing. There is also an 8-degree maintenance heating function, useful when we go away and want to keep a minimum temperature in the room. It keeps a low temperature in an empty flat and protects the interior from chilling during a trip. The function has to be switched on deliberately, and its use depends on whether the flat is insulated.
Special modes include Smart and Super Cool. The manufacturer lists them as separate functions; we show how they behave on the remote when handing the unit over. The fan has 5 speeds plus an automatic mode, and there is also a super quiet mode. The refrigerant is R32, and the maximum installation length between the units is 20 m. With longer routes up to 20 m remember that the installation has to be done carefully, and some work needs a surcharge, which we mention before installation starts.
The indoor unit works in the range from 26 dB to 41 dB. The quietest speed suits a bedroom, and the highest one a quick cooling of a room after you come home. The outdoor unit is rated at 55 dB, which is worth considering when choosing the installation spot. The remote is wireless with an LCD display, so settings can be read in the dark as well.
Air quality is supported by three elements. The first is HI-NANO sterilisation, the second a carbon filter, the third a washable filter. The manufacturer adds a removable, washable panel that makes it easier to keep the unit clean, since it does not require unscrewing the casing. Automatic louvre swing in the vertical and horizontal planes spreads air through the whole room, and Sleep mode is intended for night operation. Choosing the fan speed matters a lot for perceived comfort. The unit offers five speeds and automatic control, which selects the speed according to the temperature difference.
No filter exempts you from airing the flat and regular cleaning. The washable parts really have to be washed, best every few weeks in the season of heavy use, and once a year it is worth ordering a service of the inside. This is the part of operation that most often decides whether, after years, the air from the unit smells neutral. Air stays fresh when the filters are clean, so in the season it is worth setting a reminder on your phone.
The model has built-in Wi-Fi, which the manufacturer names outright. The app does not only switch the unit on and off, it also shows statistics of energy use and of cooling and heating performance. For people who want to know how much electricity the air conditioner really uses, this is one of the more interesting functions of the series. It lets you compare different settings and choose a cheaper way of running. From the app you can also check whether the unit works as you planned, without getting up from the armchair.
Voice control through Alexa or Google is, according to the manufacturer, optional. That means you should not assume it is included in the set; if it matters to you, we will check with the distributor how to obtain it before you decide. For everyday use the wireless remote with an LCD display and a 24-hour timer are enough, letting you programme switching on and off. The 24-hour timer is especially useful for remote work: the unit cools the office before the day begins and switches off in the evening.
During commissioning we connect the unit to the home network and show the key settings, including Sleep mode, super quiet mode and the maintenance heating function. This way, from the first day you know what each button does and how to change settings without reaching for the manual. We do the pairing with the network during start-up, so you do not have to do it yourself.
The indoor unit is white, with a plain shape, and measures 850 mm in width, 291 mm in height and 203 mm in depth. It weighs 9.5 kg. The panel is removable and washable, which makes it easier to keep clean. On the front the manufacturer lists a display, and the casing has no ornaments that would collect dust. The removable panel is practical because it lets you wash everything visible from the outside without calling a technician. That makes self-maintenance realistic, and the service check concerns the inside.
From the technical point of view the double condensate outlet is interesting, since it can be led out to the left or right side. This eases installation in flats where the condensate route is limited by furniture or the layout of the wall. We choose the detailed solution during the visit, when we can see where it is easier to run the pipe. At every installation we also choose the drain side so that the pipe does not run across the middle of the wall.
We match the outdoor unit to conditions on the facade or balcony, taking into account service access and the level of 55 dB. It is worth thinking about this before purchase, because in some housing communities installation on the facade needs the manager's consent.
Installation by LeoKlima includes fixing the indoor and outdoor units and running up to several metres of refrigerant, electrical and condensate lines. We make the wall penetration and route the line neatly. Then we pull a vacuum, check the tightness of the system, charge it with refrigerant and start the unit. The whole job usually takes one visit, and afterwards we clean up behind ourselves.
After start-up we check the operating parameters, configure the controls and the Wi-Fi connection, explain how to use the unit and hand over the warranty documents. You also get a short briefing on using the remote and the app. The maximum installation length for this model is 20 m, so in a typical flat there is a large margin. We settle the scope of work at the free assessment.
Possible surcharges, which we mention before work starts, are a longer route, drilling through concrete or reinforced concrete, wall chasing, a condensate pump and work from a lift platform. Further maintenance means washing the filters and the panel, plus an annual service. Regular washing of the filters and the panel keeps the declared performance for many seasons.
The Hisense Uni Pure 3.5 kW suits a person who wants class A+++, Wi-Fi and a set of hygiene extras in a reasonable package. It will do well in a bedroom, a large living room and a flat where the air conditioner is to run all year. Those who like to monitor energy use will appreciate the statistics in the app. If you plan an air conditioner for a room used for remote work, the timer and Wi-Fi make control easier during the day.
It fits less well if you expect the quietest running below 26 dB, presence sensors or ready-made voice control in the set. It is also worth remembering the upper cooling limit of 43°C and the outdoor unit noise of 55 dB.
Arrange a free assessment with LeoKlima: we will look at the installation site, measure the route and match the size to the room. If in doubt we will look at the flat and say openly whether this model is the right choice. We quote the installed price after a free assessment.
