The Rotenso Teta in the 3.5 kW version is a wall-mounted inverter air conditioner on R32 refrigerant, designed to run all year round. The manufacturer quotes 3.5 kW of cooling capacity and 3.9 kW of heating capacity, with seasonal ratings of SEER 8.5 (class A+++) and SCOP 4.7 (class A++). The indoor unit is 820 mm wide, 195 mm deep and 306 mm high, and weighs 9 kg. It suits a bedroom, a living room or a home office, and we set the capacity for a specific room together with you at a free audit.
The Teta stands out among Rotenso models for its looks and the way it delivers air. The casing is structured and the front has a texture that refers to fabric; the completely matte front panel is meant to let the unit blend discreetly into the interior. Thanks to Windless technology the air leaves in a gentle, diffused stream through 975 micro-holes, which is meant to limit the feeling of a draught. The indoor unit's noise level ranges from 18 to 44 dB. For a person who looks at the unit every day, the way it looks matters as much as the numbers.
On top of that come air hygiene (the bipolar iAIR ionizer and a UV-C lamp), a built-in BMS Modbus port and a SMART Wi-Fi function with a Wi-Fi modem for control from a smartphone. A remote is part of the set. Some functions, for example the Eco eMOTO mode, are not available in a Multi Split system. We quote the installed price after a free assessment, because it depends on the conditions in your flat and on the scope of work set at the audit.
The Rotenso Teta 3.5 kW is for someone who wants an air conditioner that looks good on the wall and does not impose a stream of air on them. The manufacturer describes the unit as a year-round one: it can work as the only source of heat in a house, flat or office, and at an outdoor temperature of down to -25°C it is still meant to heat the room. Whether that is realistic in your home depends on insulation, volume and room layout, so we leave the assessment to the audit.
The figures for the 3.5 kW version are as follows. Cooling capacity is 3.5 kW nominal (range 1.0 to 4.6 kW) and heating capacity is 3.9 kW (range 1.0 to 4.9 kW). A SEER of 8.5 means class A+++ in cooling and a SCOP of 4.7 means class A++ in heating. The lower end of the capacity range is 1.0 kW in both cooling and heating, which matters in a well insulated flat that needs little power.
Seasonal ratings are measured under conditions set by the standard, so real energy use depends on how you use the unit, on sun exposure and on insulation. Treat them as a way to compare appliances, not as a promise about your bill. Other Rotenso models have their own pages, and at the audit we will help you choose the one that suits your room.
For comparison: among the Rotenso models we describe in our range, the Teta puts looks and the character of the airflow first, rather than simple servicing. That choice makes sense when the unit will always be visible in the room.
The system uses DC inverter technology. The control system can select one of 30 compressor frequency ranges, to combine high efficiency with low energy use. The manufacturer states that combining frequency control with the inverter reduces reactive losses and raises motor efficiency by 12%. The fans are driven by BLDC motors with 12 speed levels, and the copper tubes of the exchanger are densely finned: the number of fins was raised from 45 to 54.
The operating range is wide: in cooling mode from -15°C to 53°C outdoor temperature, and in heating mode from -25°C to 30°C. Heating in frost relies on the compressor technology, the EXV expansion valve and a winter package with a drain pan heater and compressor warm-up. The pan heater melts snow and ice inside the outdoor unit, and the crankcase heater prepares the compressor to start at low temperatures and extends its life.
In practice the unit is designed to heat on frosty Warsaw days too, but heating output falls as the outdoor temperature drops, and the manufacturer's figures apply to test conditions. The SMART 8°C heating function switches heating on by itself so that the room does not cool below 8°C, which is useful in an empty flat in winter. The eMOTO turbo mode briefly raises the output of the compressor and the fan, which according to the manufacturer can save up to 20% of the time needed to reach the set temperature.
The lower limit of 1.0 kW means the compressor can run at low speed when demand is small, instead of switching on and off often. That helps keep the temperature even and the noise lower, especially at night, when every decibel counts.
The indoor unit runs at a noise level of 18 to 44 dB and the outdoor unit at 53 dB. The lowest value applies to the quietest speed and is what you will hear in a bedroom at night. Helping with this are the eMOTO super quiet mode, the sleep function, which changes the temperature and fan speed automatically, and the option of switching off the panel display completely.
The most characteristic feature is Windless airflow. Air leaves through 975 micro-holes in a gentle, maximally diffused stream, so you do not feel a direct blast. Before blowing air in heating mode, the eMOTO airflow control system first starts the refrigeration circuit so that cold air is not released. A wide airflow angle and automatic horizontal louvres further help distribute air around the room.
Air hygiene is supported by the bipolar iAIR super ionizer, which according to the manufacturer removes viruses, bacteria, mites and allergens from the air and eliminates odours, a built-in UV-C lamp that limits the presence of bacteria, fungi and other microorganisms, the HD iAIR pre-filter and iAIR 3-in-1 filters. The manufacturer describes two variants of the 3-in-1 filter: catechin, silver ion and vitamin C, or photocatalytic with activated carbon and Cold Nano. The iClean function dries and cleans the inside of the unit to prevent bacterial growth and unpleasant smells. It does not replace cleaning the filters or the yearly inspection.
Remember some simple habits: do not block the air inlet and outlet, do not change the temperature by several degrees at once and keep the condensate drain clear. The cleanliness of the filters directly affects air quality and energy use.
Every unit comes with a wireless remote in the set, which also allows manual addressing of indoor units. SMART Follow mode uses an extra temperature sensor in the controller, so the air conditioner can go by the temperature where you are rather than only next to the unit on the wall. The timer sets operating hours, and the auto-restart memory restores the last settings after a power cut.
The manufacturer describes a SMART Wi-Fi function which, together with a Wi-Fi modem, allows the unit to be controlled with a tablet or smartphone, at home and away from home. Control through the app is therefore possible, but we do not assume in advance that the module is always in the set; we confirm that when we quote a specific configuration.
The Teta also has a built-in BMS Modbus port, which allows the air conditioner to be integrated with smart home or building management systems. For most flats this is an extra, but it is useful where air conditioning is to work with building automation. The louvre position memory restores the last position of the vanes after a restart, and the self-diagnosis function shows an error message on the display, which makes contact with service easier.
If you plan to control the unit from your phone, agree with us at the quote stage which set you will need. That way you avoid finding out after installation that a modem is missing for remote use. Programming operating hours in advance also means the room is cool or warm before you walk in.
Looks are the strong point of the Rotenso Teta. The casing is structured and the front has a texture that refers to the structure of fabric, so the unit fits well with the natural character of modern interiors. The front panel is completely matte, so the unit looks discreet and does not reflect light the way a glossy surface does. The dimensions are 820 mm wide, 195 mm deep and 306 mm high, and the weight is 9 kg.
The exchangers in the indoor and outdoor units have a gold-coated fin finish. The manufacturer describes it as anti-corrosion protection that also guards against bacterial growth. It is a coating on the exchanger, not a self-cleaning function of the appliance. Condensate can be drained on either the left or the right side of the indoor unit, which makes it easier to adapt the route to the layout of the walls.
The fan blades were designed on bionic principles and the air duct was optimised to reduce flow resistance and noise. The refrigerant is R32, which according to the manufacturer has a lower global warming potential than older refrigerants and is in line with EU rules on F-gases.
With a unit this visible, the way the installation is routed matters as well. We try to run the pipes and cables so that they are as unobtrusive as possible, and we place the outdoor unit in line with the rules of the housing community or cooperative, where such rules exist. We discuss details at the audit before we agree on the installation spot.
As part of the installation LeoKlima does the following: installation of the indoor and outdoor unit; up to a few metres of refrigerant, electrical and condensate route; a wall passage and a tidy run of the installation; evacuation (vacuum) and a leak check of the system; refrigerant charging and start-up; checking the operating parameters and configuring the controls; instruction on how to use the unit and handover of the warranty documents. This model allows an installation length of up to 25 m.
We set the scope of work at a free audit. Possible surcharges are discussed before the work starts: they concern a longer route, drilling through concrete or reinforced concrete, wall chasing, a condensate pump and work from a lift platform. This way there are no surprises on installation day. We quote the installed price after a free assessment.
After installation, you keep the unit in good shape above all: clean the filters regularly, do not block the air inlet or outlet and keep the condensate drain clear. Have the unit inspected once a year, because that maintains efficiency, limits energy use and catches small faults before they become a breakdown. In a block of flats you usually need the building manager's consent for the outdoor unit, so ask about the rules beforehand; we will help you judge where it will bother you and your neighbours least.
A final tip: the 3-in-1 filters and the pre-filter need regular checks, and dust on the front is easier to remove with a soft, dry cloth than with abrasive products. That way the matte surface keeps an even look for a long time. We show the cleaning rules when we hand over the unit.
The Rotenso Teta 3.5 kW suits someone who buys an air conditioner with their eyes as well: they want a matte, discreet front with a fabric texture, and they care about airflow without a noticeable stream and low noise in the bedroom. It works well in a higher-standard interior where the unit hangs in a visible place.
Note the limitations. Functions the manufacturer marks as unavailable in Multi Split, such as the Eco eMOTO mode, will not work when several indoor units are connected to one outdoor unit. The unit is also somewhat taller than the slimmest Rotenso models, so check the space above a door or under the ceiling.
Before you decide, think about what matters more to you: the look of the unit, diffused airflow or quiet operation. The Teta answers all three needs, but if a low unit height is the most important thing, compare it with other Rotenso models. We will help with that during the audit.
